Meia Lua, or "Half Moon," is a peaceful two-story retreat perched on a hill in Pinheiro, within the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. Surrounded by lush gardens and a private saltwater heated pool, this eco-friendly home boasts one-of-a-kind views over the Tavira Island beach stretch, offering an experience that no other property in the region can match. The house is adorned with art created from recycled beach materials by the late Sylvia Altstadt, founder of Somewhere Special.

On the ground floor, there are three spacious rooms. The master bedroom, with access to the front terrace and pool, features an en-suite bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub, separate shower, and private toilet. The second bedroom opens to the quiet back garden, and the third room, once Sylvia's art studio, has its own private entrance from the rear of the house. Upstairs, the mezzanine offers a versatile space for foosball, yoga, or simply relaxing on the sofa while soaking in the panoramic sea and island views. The upper level also includes two en-suite bedrooms, one with a sauna that offers stunning views of the garden, sea, and the Ria Formosa through its three-sided glass walls.

Meia Lua is more than just a retreat—it’s a haven for wildlife. A family of rabbits often wanders through the garden, and the rare sight of chameleons gives the property its unique logo. While the property is not completely fenced, the occasional animals are gentle and contribute to the welcoming, countryside atmosphere.

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans cette belle maison pratique et joliment décorée. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié: le grand jardin où il fait bon observer les oiseaux et les lapins; la grande piscine chauffée; la cheminée pour les soirées fraîches. Nos seuls bémols concernent le BBQ (qui se fait un peu vieux) et l'entretien du jardin (il y traîne notamment des déchets et des fils de fer qui peuvent être potentiellement dangereux). Mais nous recommandons sans problème cette maison.
