**Luazinha – A Cozy Fisherman’s Cottage at the Edge of the Lagoon**
**A Secluded Gem in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve**
Luazinha is one of the few remaining fishermen's cottages along the lagoon's edge at Pinheiro. Lovingly renovated, it offers a cozy retreat in a rare and unspoiled part of the Eastern Algarve. The nature reserve is home to various rare bird species, making it a birdwatcher’s paradise. Guests often wake up to the soothing sounds of the sea and chirping birds, leading many to return to Luazinha time and again.
**Outdoor Adventures at Your Doorstep**
At the bottom of the garden, a scenic walkway and cycle route along the lagoon lead you west towards Fuseta and east to the stunning beach of Barril. A short stroll away, you’ll find the family-friendly seafood restaurant, Fialho, perfect for delightful meals any time of year—everything you need is right on your doorstep.
**Charming Interiors and Comforts**
Upon arrival, you’ll be captivated by the location and views from the front and roof terraces. Enter into an open-plan living area featuring a cozy lounge with a wood burner for cooler months, plenty of books, a TV, a DVD player, and a CD player, along with broadband Wi-Fi internet. The dining area, adjacent to the fully equipped kitchen, has all the utensils needed for a self-catering holiday, including a hob, microwave, tabletop oven, and fridge-freezer. A dining table accommodates six, with a high chair available for younger travelers.
An archway leads to the shower room and two bedrooms: one with a double bed and another with twin beds. All windows are fitted with mosquito nets, allowing for refreshing sea breezes in summer. The house is also equipped with air conditioning for your comfort.
**Outdoor Living Spaces**
The outdoor spaces at Luazinha are where you’ll want to spend most of your time, drawn in by the stunning views. The front terrace features a wooden table, chairs, and a parasol, ideal for enjoying leisurely breakfasts while watching locals gather shellfish in the lagoon. Winding steps lead to the roof terrace, which includes a pergola and sails for shade, along with a barbecue for delightful al fresco dining. As night falls, the stars light up the sky, and the moon reflects on the water, inspiring the name Luazinha, which means "Little Moon."
A newly created garden area at the front of the cottage aims to attract even more birdlife, enhancing your connection with nature right on your doorstep.

July 11, 2024The house is so lovely that we have not really gone very far... the best part of our week was being up on the roof terrace watching the wildlife and the local fisherman... the house is so well equipped. We hope to return...

July 11, 2024We are still in awe of our fortune - from start to finish we had the vacation of our dreams – the people, the food, the sights, the peace, the culture, the view! The restaurant down the street, the neighbours, the rooftop terrace… we could go on for days… Thank you for what we feel like was the vacation of a lifetime… forever greatful and humbled by such an incredible experience…

February 16, 2026We stayed March 2025, disappointed it was very damp and we had a dehumidifier on for the duration of the holiday, yes there had been a lot of rain but the property should not have been let out, so hopefully the problem has now been solved

March 21, 2026Great location to get away from it all but still have it all a short drive away. Tons of history around you and the full on Algarve experience right in front of you. This is the real Portugal. House has everything you need for a great week.
